The back catalog: 32 earlier releases, v1.23.0 back to v1.0.0
The roadmap goes public, and the cast gets the right source
- NewA public roadmap at /roadmap: what shipped, what is shipping now, what comes next, and what sits on the horizon. Managed entirely from the admin panel, dates stated as intentions. Agent pairing, photo clones, PC and Android, and the community floor are all on it.
- NewShop items in the admin show their real names and pictures straight from the app, with one click to mirror any picture into our own storage, or all of them at once.
- NewCreator options ship with fitting default thumbnails. Anything you set yourself stays yours.
- FixedThe whole cast now reads from the iOS defaults group first. An earlier automatic guess had pinned the developer account and served its test bots; the guess is retired and the pin removed.
- FixedAdmin popups no longer scroll sideways or wear raw ids as their titles.
- FixedThe app roster filters by group and defaults to the iOS set, so Import all imports the cast, not the test bench.
The default cast arrives, and the voices clear their throats
- NewThe cast surfaces now read from the app itself: the public iOS defaults group feeds the whole-cast grid, the library shelf, and the catalog search, with the hub mirror as backup.
- NewImport all: one click in the admin brings every default app character onto the site, art mirrored, published as they land, with progress and a stop button.
- NewVoice previews in the character wizard: press play, hear the voice, decide. One at a time, like a civilized audition.
- ImprovedAn admin visual round: stat cards with icons, health checks with severity stripes and a collapsed passing list, pipeline steps as numbered tracks, calmer state banners, and purposeful empty states throughout.
- FixedVoices work again. The speech service rejected a parameter we no longer send, and the voice list now shows names like Tyler Cole instead of a workspace file path.
- FixedThe admin dashboard analytics panel loads: the database wanted a plainer number than it was given.
- FixedThe System page reports the real deployed version instead of 0.1.0.
- FixedThe scheduler heartbeat records even while autonomy is off, so a healthy tick no longer masquerades as an incident.
The cast, found by ownership instead of by name
- FixedThe trail to the official account is complete. The reels reveal who owns their stars, and any catalog profile belonging to that owner is the official one, whatever it calls itself. No more waiting for a lucky handle.
The dash retires. The cast becomes shareable and browsable.
- NewEvery public character page has a Share button now: the native sheet where it exists, and X, Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram, Reddit, LinkedIn and copy-link where it does not.
- NewArrows on the character pages: page through the whole cast left and right, with wraparound.
- NewThe three Studio tools now show an example of what comes out of each door.
- ImprovedThe house voice has a new rule: no em dashes, anywhere. The pages, the changelog, and the guide itself have been brought into line.
- ImprovedThe character gallery grid is disciplined now: uniform gutters, no overlaps at any width, and the app screenshots wear their own framed treatment.
- ImprovedFast image variants now cover every thumbnail the site can serve, the chat roster included.
- FixedScene images render again. The image service hides its real errors inside generic ones, so the Studio now tries each model shape in turn instead of trusting the first excuse. It also finished the earlier fix: two slow tiles and the chat cards were still on the heavy originals.
The pictures arrive, and the pages compose themselves
- ImprovedSecond design pass on Characters, Chat, Create and Features from the owner’s screenshots: the webcam section got hierarchy, the create chapters got balance, the browse-a-cast phones got a composed layout, the chat roster got its polish.
- ImprovedBig images now say how big they actually render, so nothing asks the server for a 3840-pixel version of a 400-pixel pane.
- FixedThe empty dark panes are gone. The database was still pointing at the heaviest possible versions of every picture; it now points at the fast ones. Carefully, without touching anything an editor changed.
- FixedThe last of the pre-rewrite copy (the proof steps, the create chapters, the feature captions) came around to the house voice by the same careful route.
The till accepts the right kind of number
- FixedApp billing checkout works: the catalog hands out price ids, the checkout wants product ids, and we were passing along the wrong one. Both ends now insist on the product.
The cast, found
- FixedThe official-account trail finally connects: the reels pointed at the right chatbots all along, but their owner arrived shaped differently than expected and was being politely ignored. No longer. The cast pins itself on the next visit.
The screenshot-driven polish, and the voice finally goes live
- NewThe hero slideshow tells time now: the active dot fills toward the next slide, and every scene drifts slowly so the crossfades land mid-motion.
- NewThe worlds shelf shows where you are in it, numbers its panes, and announces itself to screen readers.
- NewPrivacy and Terms grew tables of contents. They remain drafts. They are easier to be a draft of.
- ImprovedEvery marketing page took a screenshot-driven design pass: five or more deliberate improvements per page, both themes.
- ImprovedThe heavy artwork ships in fast web sizes now; the slow blank panes below the fold are gone.
- ImprovedForty-two lines of the site’s copy were being overridden by their pre-rewrite database versions. The database has been brought around to the new voice. Carefully, without touching anything an editor changed by hand.
The audit hardening: seven serious things, fixed
- NewSeven social-share card designs and AI prompt help arrived in v1.17.x; their release notes ride here.
- FixedCharacter and blog pages work again: an auth check in the wrong layer made every dynamic public page fail. Static rendering and caching are back site-wide.
- FixedSigning out now actually signs you out of both sessions, instead of one session quietly re-inviting the other.
- FixedThe dashboard tabs scroll on phones instead of shoving half the navigation off the screen.
- FixedA stale approval can no longer resurrect and publish a post an operator already rejected.
- FixedScheduled-job endpoints fail closed: without an explicit service-account pin, only the rotated secret opens the door.
- FixedCredentials that had been committed in infrastructure files were removed and rotated; the repo now refuses to track that file class.
The writers’ room opens; the cameras work again
- NewAI help on both Studio tools: polish a rough idea into a proper prompt, or have four scene ideas pitched for your character. One undo, no ceremony.
- NewThe scene-image tool grew settings: canvas shape, six visual styles, and an "add to the scene" list for props and company.
- NewThree social-share card designs ship with the site. Pick which one runs from the admin settings, swap any time.
- FixedVideo generation works again: when the service rejects a model its own menu offered, the Studio quietly reroutes and tells you which camera actually rolled.
- FixedImage generation works again: the upstream API changed its mind about a parameter; we no longer send it, and we accept answers in both dialects.
- FixedThe official cast now resolves through the reels: the account behind the curated feed IS the official one, so the grids stop depending on lucky scans and pin themselves.
- FixedAn empty cast section now says so instead of vanishing after its skeletons.
Equal billing for the worlds
- ImprovedThe worlds gallery re-cut: three identical panes, a lift when you hover, and the centered one drifts in a slow zoom like it knows it’s being watched.
- ImprovedShop items now read their real names and pictures out of the app’s data; items that never had either get a tidy placeholder instead of a serial number.
The scanner learns where the official account actually lives
- ImprovedThe official-account scan now resolves the stars of the official reels to their owner, a much surer signal than hoping the account strolls through the public feeds. Reels-backed candidates are labeled and listed first, and you can also paste a profile id directly.
The worlds arrive where they were announced
- FixedThe live database still held the original three worlds, so the new arrows had nothing to page through. A careful backfill delivered the other three, without touching anything an editor may have changed.
The front page starts moving
- NewThe hero is a slideshow now: four scenes on rotation, each a fraction of its old file size. It pauses when you hover, out of politeness.
- NewThe three doors grew arrows: page through the whole gallery of worlds, three at a time. On phones you swipe, as nature intended.
- NewBoth are editable in the admin content panel (home.hero.slides and home.worlds.items). Swap scenes without a deploy.
- NewThe admin settings page gained an Official-account card: scan the app’s creators, recognize @Vizlings, pin it. The Studio picker can import any official character straight from the catalog.
- ImprovedThe site’s canonical address is vizlings.com now, everywhere links are minted.
The exit works
- FixedThe one-click unsubscribe now lands on the actual site instead of an address only the server believes in.
The characters learn to write letters
- NewStay in touch: ask any character to email or text you now and then. They write in their own voice, on your schedule, and every message carries a one-click way to make them stop.
- NewThe correspondence desk in the admin panel: every opt-in, every dispatch, pause and test controls, with sending simulated by default until an operator arms it.
- NewFaces for the front desk: set a picture for your account and for each of your profiles, everywhere they appear.
- ImprovedThe official @Vizlings account now pins itself once discovered. The cast stops depending on lucky scans.
The Studio opens
- NewA Studio tab: make scene images and video clips starring your own characters. Only your own. The camera checks, and so does the server.
- NewThe library grew shelves: the official cast, the community, or everything at once, all searchable.
- ImprovedMaking a character and making things with one are now different places. The builder is the workshop; the Studio is the only Studio.
- ImprovedThe official cast finds its way to the site more reliably, and operators can pin the official account from the admin panel.
- FixedMissing share links now 404 for everyone, browsers included, not just for the robots.
A 404 that admits it
- FixedShare links for characters that don’t exist now answer with an honest 404 instead of a nicely dressed 200.
The voice reaches the front of house; characters become shareable
- NewShare any character to any network: each share mints a public card page with proper link previews.
- NewThe admin roster opens up: search every official Vizling and add them to Character socials in one click (they arrive with their real persona and portrait); removing keeps their public page.
- ImprovedEvery marketing page rewritten in the house voice, with the doubled pitches cut. The pages say less now. They mean more.
- ImprovedEvery dashboard page wears the same header: eyebrow, title, one line under it.
The voice, and a help desk that follows you around
- NewVizlings has a tone of voice now: Deadpan Wonder. It lives in the admin panel, the team can edit it, and a Voice studio rewrites or drafts any copy in it.
- NewEvery automated character post writes under the house voice (the character leads; the voice governs restraint).
- NewThe support assistant floats on every dashboard page: a bubble away, conversation intact between visits to it.
The whole cast, live support, and the legal pages
- NewThe whole official cast on the Vizlings tab: the full curated catalog as a searchable grid with family chips (Fruitopia, Robits, and friends).
- NewSupport is now a live chat grounded in the product guide, with the bug-report form one toggle away.
- NewPrivacy Policy and Terms of Service drafts, linked from a Legal section in the footer.
- FixedThe newsletter and contact forms wore dark-theme fields on the paper ground in both themes. Fields are now paper-keyed where the page is paper.
Call mode, collections, and the last of the app parity list
- NewCall mode: a hands-free voice conversation with any character. Talk, they answer aloud, tap to interrupt. Live captions included.
- NewFollowing and Popular-creators rows plus curated collection shelves on the Vizlings home.
- NewGame-key redemption and the AI-features switch on the Account page.
- NewMove a chatbot between your groups from the bot editor.
- NewA public changelog (this page) with the deployed version in the footer.
- ImprovedA QA sweep across the twelve newest surfaces, with its findings fixed before shipping.
Profiles, creator pages, and the deep visual pass
- NewProfile switcher with real semantics: switching your acting profile re-scopes feeds, likes, comments and follows everywhere at once. Full profile management on the Account page.
- NewCreator pages: every @handle opens a profile with their cast, followers, and a Follow button.
- NewWebcam capture on "Make me a Vizling": three-two-one, snap, sculpt.
- NewVideo clips are character-first: pick a star from your cast or the trending rail, then direct their scene.
- ImprovedTen-plus visual upgrades on each new surface: the shop’s hue-lit shelves and ticket-style exchanges, the wizard’s live character preview, the skybox contact sheet, the director’s-slate video progress.
- FixedPersona Generate now runs through your own app account instead of an unprovisioned backend.
The creative suite
- NewThe Create hub: video clips that render straight into your Vizlings storage, selfie-to-avatar, and skybox scenes.
- NewTranscribe and auto-describe your storage media.
- NewBug reports from the web into the same triage stream as the app, with an admin console.
- NewThe big Library: the whole catalog with search, sort, filters and collection chips.
- NewCharacter creator options and shop items became operator-managed, thumbnails included.
- ImprovedThe shop got its own tab; the account menu replaced the crowded header cluster.
Chats that remember, and a guided way in
- NewWeb conversations persist and resume; a "Jump back in" rail leads the Vizlings home.
- NewA guided character-creation wizard ending in "Create & chat", straight into iOS.
- NewAI persona drafting, discovery sort and filters, and trash & restore for group bots.
- NewThe character creator and the in-app shop (credits and Gems only).
- FixedVoice actually works: the site had been blocking its own microphone permission.
- FixedVoice messages auto-send after recording (with a toggle).
Stories on a calendar
- NewNarrative arcs: give any character a mission and their automated posts become episodes of one story, paced against a real timeline with breather days.
- NewContent calendars for operators and creators: every post on one month grid.
- ImprovedOne Vizlings tab; character cards found their real art; the admin nav folds to sections.
The social, speaking web app
- NewLikes, favorites, comments and follows on every character page.
- NewCharacters speak in their own voices; dictate replies with the mic.
- NewDaily gift, app balances, storage lenses and search-by-meaning.
- NewApp billing, email verification, account deletion, remix with attribution, and the deep field editor.
Chat with the whole cast
- NewThe Vizlings tab: the app’s trending cast and your feeds, browsable on the web.
- NewWeb chat with any character through the app’s own pipe. Same account, same billing.
- NewBots built on the web appear in iOS, generated looks riding along as their pictures.
One Apple sign-in, two worlds
- NewSign in with Apple: the same account as the iOS app, studio account included.
- NewStorage and Groups on the web: your media libraries and chatbot groups, synced with iOS.
Light mode and the art-directed site
- NewLight/dark themes across the whole site. The light marketing pages became the paper edition.
- ImprovedPer-page design improvements across forty-plus pages.
The studio floor
- NewThe customer dashboard: accounts, credits, character building, socials with review-first autopilot.
- NewThe /watch feed streaming live character reels.
- FixedA 33-finding hardening pass across money, tenancy and autopilot.
Vizlings goes dynamic
- NewThe Vizlings site rebuilt on a live CMS with the admin panel, blog, media library and the Creator Engine.
